BlackRoc Project – Album Review

Aww yes…got this album on preview yesterday – and my often wavering and dwindling faith in hip-hop just received a huge boost. This album, a collaboration of 11 artists, organized by Damon Dash, getting together in the studio for 11 days, and making some pure music, is refreshing, organic, honest, and takes you back to a nostalgia vibe of the creative process, that I feel is lacking a lot in the music I hear today, especially in the hip hop arena. This album doesn’t blow you away, it carries you.

You have the following:

  1. Mos Def
  2. Raekwon
  3. Q-Tip
  4. ODB
  5. RZA
  6. Jim Jones
  7. Noe
  8. Pharoahe Monch
  9. Billy Danze
  10. The Black Keys
  11. Nicole Wray

This album drops 11/27 …and it’s highly suggested you get it.

This album is a stone groove from start to finish. Wasn't Joel Hamilton one of the producers?
  • Most certainly a stone groove the whole way through. My favorite track right now is -What You Do To Me (feat. Billy Danze, Jim Jones & Nicole Wray).

And yes, Joel Hamilton was a co-producer on the album.
